In this program there are 3 partner schools (from Greece, Germany and Czech Republic) for children with special educational needs. The aim of the program is to sensitise our students concerning other European countries, cultures and languages.Because of the special educational needs of our students and the common conclusion of the teachers' team that the practical learning helps a lot our pupils, we decided to explore Europe through singing and dancing. Therefore, our students will learn traditional and local types of songs and dances drom Germany, greece and Czech Republic. They will exchange dvd's and video tapes in order to learn the songs and the dances of each differenet country. Also, they will sing a song which contains simple words from the 3 languages. It will be a new experience for them to sing in a foreign language. Moreover, they will try to find out different and common characteristics between the local songs, for example different musical instruments that are used. We will exchange "suitcases" between the schools that participate in the program. Each suitcase will contain products and creations of the students, which will symbolize the travel through the European countries. The suitcases will be opened in each school in front of all students. This way of sharing experiences and results of the program's work, it will be a great and valuable experience not only for the students but also for the teachers of ours schools. We would like to express our thanks to the following institutions, for the polite offer of printed material about Chios, as well as for the offer of local products:
