Social work

The Social worker provides support:

a) to students
   
The students have the chance to be addressed to Social Service, to help them in the promotion and protection of their health, in the development of personal and social dexterities, with the final aim to acquire the essential skills that they will allow them to take right and responsible decisions in subjects that they are concerned.

   Also, it offers individual advising for preparation of pupils for their integration in the job market via programs of detection of dexterities, skills, interests and techniques of determination of work, as well as discussion of problems that they face probably in future in their working place . Moreover, they take part in visit to local employers, where their working place is related with the specialities of our workshops.

b) To parents
   
Parents visit the Social Service aiming at the exchange of opinions and arguments about the upbringing of their children and the support in their parents role, in order that the family will function as a safe environment for the development of the personality of their children as a whole.

c) To the Community
   
Also, there is collaboration with institutions of the wider community, so that we can face problems which are result of the familial environment of students and mobilise individuals and institutions of community, so that we can create a network of sensitised citizens and institutions with regard to the education and the working rights of individuals with Special Educational Needs.

d) To the Teachers
   
Also, there are interventions with the teachers of our school aiming at the aid of their role, the improvement of communication between teacher and student and creation of supporting climate in the area of school, that it will promote the self-activity and the prevention of dysfunctional behaviour.

Other activities:
  
There are teams of students which carry out Health Education projects, so that the students become stronger in order to negotiate more effectively with situations from daily life, problems, difficulties, decisions and choices.
